Sponsorship

Help us support your business. By supporting us, we both win!

As a local sports team, the Hamilton Heat gives youth an opportunity to develop leadership and collaborative skills, provides a much needed outlet for their stressors, while helping them build relationships and support their community.

By supporting us, you are supporting the Hamilton Ringette Association’s goal to build meaningful relationships and strength of character through team sport.

About the Hamilton Ringette Association (HRA)

The Hamilton Ringette Association (HRA) began over 50 years ago to administer and promote the sport of ringette.
The association continues to grow and expand as more athletes from ages 4 to 18+ come out to join in this great sport. Our continued efforts towards growth were recognized in 2022 by being named Ringette Ontario’s Regional Association of the Year! When you consider all the coaches, trainers, families and friends of both visiting and home teams that come out to games and tournaments, you can see that the HRA’s “circle of influence” is quite broad, and increasing in size on a yearly basis. In partnering with the HRA, your business will benefit from access to this large audience while investing into the future of our youth and community.

What is Ringette?

Ringette was founded in Canada in 1963 by Sam Jacks, a Recreation Director and sports enthusiast from North Bay, Ontario when he saw the opportunity to create a winter team sport for girls.

Since the early 1960s, the sport has continued to grow and currently boasts nearly 32,333 registered players on nearly 2000 teams, with over 8000 coaches and over 1700 officials. While it is primarily a female sport, ringette is inclusive regardless of gender identity.

Ringette, like hockey, is played on ice with skates and sticks, and with six players per team on the ice at once. The objective is to score goals by shooting the object of play into the opposing team’s net at either end of the rink during stop-time periods of play. But this is where the comparisons between ringette and hockey really ends.

The emphasis in ringette is on play-making and skating skills. In fact, ringette has become one of the fastest team sports on ice.

Why Be a Sponsor?

Your involvement in Hamilton Ringette can be financially rewarding for your business. An investment in a team sponsorship can:

• Increase traffic to your business;
• Provide a low-cost form of advertising;
• Offer a tax break for publicity;
• Demonstrate your interest in the community by supporting Hamilton youth to participate in an organized team sport.

Why We Need Your Support?

We want to make sure that Hamilton Ringette is accessible to everyone. The success of our Association relies not only on the power of volunteers but also monetary support to get our athletes on the ice. Some of these costs include: tournaments, ice time, game officials, travel throughout Southern Ontario and the GTA, equipment, on and off ice training sessions, and team building to name a few. Your sponsorship will help us keep our registration costs to a reasonable rate, improving accessibility of ringette to more youth in our community. Help us make this year our most successful and enjoyable season by supporting the Hamilton Ringette Association and/or a specific team. Please contact fundraising@hamiltonringette.ca to express your interest.
