Red Zone Updates

Feb. 19, 2021

Good Afternoon,

We hope that everyone had a great Family Day long weekend and that you all continue to be well.  It is exciting to see that the City has now returned to level Red, but there is still a long way to go before we return to normal.  Hamilton Ringette is currently looking at the possibility of some additional ice time for the remainder of the season.  We will reach out to the membership shortly to gauge interest in a few extra weeks of skill development, watch for the survey next week.  Our ability to offer any additional programming may be hindered by those who have not yet submitted their final registration fees, which were due back in December.  No additional ice will be offered to these members until their payments have been brought up to date.

Hamilton Ringette is now accepting nominations for the 2020 award for excellence in volunteering.  The amount of time and energy that goes in to running our programming continues to grow.  This is an opportunity for you, the membership, to recognize those individuals that have repeatedly gone above and beyond for the association.  Please take a few minutes of your time to say Thank You.  To nominate an individual simply send an email to secretary@hamiltonringette.ca with the persons name and a brief reason of why they are deserving.

Please find below some important information about the 2020-21 and 2021-22 seasons:

Registration Refunds 2020-21 Season:

As we finalize the account for this season, a partial refund will be offered to all those players who have paid in full. These payments will be processed in March once the HRA finalizes the year-end accounting. Please be patient as we work through this paperwork. The following refund amounts will be provided to each player in the noted age groups:

  • $255 refund for players registered in U10-U16
  • $105 refund for FUNdamentals

Outstanding Payment 2020-21 Season:

If you are not yet paid in full for this season, payment is due by Feb 28. If payment is not received in full, those affected players will have a note added to their SRRL membership.  Marked as in arrears, those athletes will not be permitted to play with any association until paid.  A separate email will be sent by Jon to those with outstanding balances with payment details. You can contact Jon at registrar@hamiltonringette.ca to arrange you payment.

Registration for 2021-22 Season:

For those players wishing to apply refund balances over to next season, the HRA is offering an additional $25 credit towards your balance. This will be applied at registration. If you do not reach out to the Treasurer by Feb 28 with refund instructions, the HRA will assume you are porting over your refund to the 2021/22 season. These fees are only applicable to next season’s registration fees and cannot be applied to any other HRA planned programming. By porting over any balances to next season, you also agree to the $100 non-refundable deposit required by the HRA, this will cover expenses incurred during registration which includes program planning, insurance fees and other additional items.

More to come:

  • AGM will be scheduled in April, please stay tuned for dates and call information. This will take place virtually. A number of HRA board/executive positions are due for renewal and we need all membership input
  • Spring and summer programming is still TBD but the plan is to return to regular programming as soon as possible based on regional and health until guidelines
  • National Ringette School - Registration is now open and is offering a Hamilton camp again this summer.

Thank you, we can't wait to see you again!
Andy
