Happy Holidays from the Hamilton Ringette Association

From the Desk of the President
I hope that all of you are enjoying the 2019/2020 Hamilton Heat season so far.  As most of your know this is the 50th year of the HRA and a lot of new and exciting things are happening.  We held our first official Opening Day with Paris; it was a great day, well received by all!  Thanks to Karen Manns for organizing the day and to all the volunteers who gave their time to make it run smoothly.  This is the first official edition of "The Ignitor", to keep you all up to date on the happenings of the HRA. I will be accepting topics or articles to add to the newsletter from anyone who wishes to contribute to future editions.  We also held our first Spaghetti Dinner fundraiser which was also a massive success, in large part to the volunteers that put in diligently to make it happen.  There are still more exciting things to come, keep an eye on the website to find out!

I would like to wish you and all of your families a Fun, Safe Holiday Season and a Very Merry Christmas!

Holiday Cheers,

We are just waiting on final confirmation from the SRA and the second half schedule should be live by the start of next week.  We appologize for the delay; there were issue out of our control during the creation on the second half schedule.
The second half powerskating program registration is now open!!  We are pleased to offer two sessions to allow for more access in all age groups U10 and up.  N'ice Stix will continue to provide a high skilled, fast paced program, to help drive all of our kids forward in their development.

Learn to Skate / U8
Our learn to skate program is growing every year, and it looks like we have another great crop of future ringette stars!  It is amazing to see the strides this group is making weekly.  The U8 group will be playing more games in the second half as they move towards the transition into regional play next season.
Picture Day
Picture day this year is scheduled for Wednesday January 22, 2020.  More details on schedule will be emailed out to you soon.  Keep an eye out for the details.

Spaghetti Dinner
The first ever HRA spaghetti dinner was a huge success!  It was a fun filled evening with lots of food, prizes, and Live music by the Orangemen.  Thanks to the hard work of Brett Rivers and his dedicated group of volunteer helpers the association was able to raise in excess if $6500 to help offset the costs of providing the many great programs the HRA offers your children.
The U12 team coached by Stephanie Parker made their way into the Western Region and dominated the tournament held in Mitchell.  The girls ran the table in the tournament with tenacious defense and hard pressing offense.  The goalie, Kayla Benyak, led the tournament in GAA and posted back to back shut outs to start the tournament.  Ella Mous led the tournament in goals and points scored and every player contributed to the scoreboard in almost every game.  Great Job Team!
This years' skate-a-thon will be held Monday February 10 from 6-8pm at Bill Friday(Lawfield) Arena.  Forms and information will be handed out soon.  This is always a great fundraiser for the kids and a great time to get all the players in the HRA on the ice together.
